Woody Guthrie, extraordinarily, became a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Songwriters Hall of Famer, International Folk Music Award Lifetime Achievement honoree, and GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award winner, and the lead track off the collection is Woody’s only known recording of his iconic song ‘Plane Wreck at Los Gatos (Deportee)‘.

Guthrie wrote the track in 1948 in response to a New York Times article about a plane crash in Los Gatos Canyon, California, that killed 32 people, including 28 migrant farm workers.
